The Theory of Interacting Systems: Volume 3
EQUILIBRIUM THEORY
To be released: Summer 2002
The classical nonequilibrium thermodynamics of Volume 2 is extended in the equilibrium case into a study of equations of state, thermoelectricity, thermodynamic surfaces, the theory of phase changes, asymptotic thermodynamics, and computable thermodynamics.

The Theory of Interacting Systems: Volume 4
QUANTUM THEORY
To be released: Winter 2002
A version of quantum mechanics is presented that adheres closely to Bohr's views. A quantum mechanics of macroscopic particle systems is developed and the concepts of correspondence, correlation, action, interference, independence, and coherence, are studied along with the pardoxes of localization and the central role of duality.

The Theory of Interacting Systems: Volume 5
QUANTUM THERMODYNAMICS
To be released: Summer 2003
Both general and equilibrium quantum thermodynamics are developed using the quantum formalism provided in Volume 4. The history and conceptual foundation of the connection between thermodynamics and probability are examined in detail. The quantum versions of action and the virial are used to explore the relation of macroscopic experiments to the underlying particle mechanics.

The Theory of Interacting Systems: Volume 6
RELATIVITY THEORY
To be released: Summer 2004
The classical and quantum formalism of the Theory of Interacting Systems for nonequilibrium thermodynamics and statistical mechanics is extended into the domains of special and general relativity. The close association between mechanics and thermodynamics at the foundation of the theory is exploited to resolve some long-standing disputes concerning the definitions and transformation properties of the elements of thermodynamics in the relativistic setting.
